October 23, 2013, BMW Motorrad President Stephan Schaller , procurement Vice-President Andreas Schuster-Woldan and their party visited Loncin. Chongqing Vice Mayor Chen Heping, Deputy Director of Chongqing Economic & Information Technology Commission Zhou Qing, Party Secretary of CPC Chongqing Jiulongpo Committee Ding Hong, founder of Loncin & Loncin Group Chairman Tu Jianhua, Board Chairman of Loncin Gao Yong, and Vice President Wen Xiaogang met guests of BMW Motorrad, and attended signing ceremony of Loncin - BMW Agreement on Long-term Supply of Brand-new Large Displacement Engine.
Since cooperation with BMW Motorrad in 2005, Locin has officially become BMW Motorrad’s global supplier of 650 cc engine and strategic partner. During this period, technical capability and quality management level of Loncin have been upgraded continuously. After 8 years’ tempering, Locin now becomes the industry's only large displacement motorcycle engine manufacturer that can continuously supply the products in batches with the quality being controlled, proven to possess remarkable leading superiority in the field of large displacement units and has capacity of tailored-making engines with larger displacement. While attaching great importance to self-development, Loncin has also driven the industrial technological upgrade and rapid development of Chongqing enterprises engaged in processing of motorcycle engine parts.
Accordingly in process of rigorous inspection and evalsuation on multiple global suppliers conducted by BMW Motorrad in two years, Loncin, with its outstanding technical team, excellent quality assurance capability and stable supply-side resources, won the bid of supply and was approved by BMW Motorrad.
It is reported that Loncin, to achieve long-term supply, will invest RMB100 million to perform building of production capacity and conditions of manufacture according to current level of world’s advanced manufacturing technology to achieve competitive advantage in terms of quality, cost and schedule.
The agreement signed this time was also a high recognition of long-term cooperation between the two parties. It is of milestone-significance to Loncin - BMW cooperative projects, marking expansion of the cooperation in new areas.
